Popularly called benga Adeyinka the 1st, CFR (Comedian of the Federal Republic) now GCON (Grand Comedian of Nigeria). He crept into the public psyche as a stand-up Comedian in a dramatic way. His first introduction was an appearance at a function about two decades ago. Since then, he has perfected his art to become one of those to beat in the business.

He is a graduate of English from the University of Lagos with Television programmes on major Television Stations and he also appears on segments on programmes on many television shows. His humour emanates from an informed mind with a lot of depth and richness in meaning. He is a polyglot whose presentation medium is English, blended with the three major Nigerian languages and a working knowledge of three other international languages.

His comedy and music shows tagged Laffmattazz with “Gbenga Adeyinka 1st and friends” is a leading upscale comedy event that continues to gather greater momentum and win the hearts of new fans. In its 9th year on tour of the South west, it remains the most anticipated, sought after and constantly sold out show in Nigeria outside of Lagos.

A man of many firsts, benga is the first Nigerian Stand-up comedian to have worked in Ghana. He has to date had the honour of anchoring the Ghana Music Awards twice, and performed at 12 other shows in Ghana where his fan base is huge.He is also the publisher of Nigeria’s first Comedy Magazine,’LAFFMATTAZZ MAGAZINE’described by many as voice of the Nigerian Comedy industry. His career has seen him working in the UK, UAE, USA, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Liberia, South Africa and the 36 states of Nigeria.

His clients have included but are not limited to the Nigerian Breweries Plc., for whom he hosted the award winning STAR TV GAME, that ran on NTA and other major networks in Nigeria and internationally on DSTV.

He has had the privilege of anchoring Nigeria’s Premium Music concert, STAR MEGA JAM and has shared the same stage with AWILO, AKON, LL COOL J, JA RULE, KEVIN LITTLE, T PAIN, KANYE WEST, NAS, BUSTA RHYMES, LUDACRIS and numerous top rate Nigerian artistes.

He has been described as the most versatile Comedian in the business; Gbenga has the ability to work a large crowd to frenzy, the ability to compere a corporate event, making the crowd laugh and the same time getting the brand message across and the grace to adapt to a small private party.

He is seen by many as the toast of government and government parastatals, corporate Nigeria’s stress reliever.
